I would be lying if I said affirmations daily. I just say it whenever I remember or when I am faced with a difficult situation. They help me have faith that the situation will get better. Saying these affirmations have changed my perspective on things, I’ll tell you how.

What Are Daily Affirmations?

Daily affirmations are simple, positive statements that you repeat to yourself to negative thoughts. When I say them, I feel comforted. I don’t know too much about how others work with their affirmations but I usually change it from time to time. After a certain period of time, I feel immune to it (maybe it’s just me though). Let’s get to why they are important.

Why Are They Important?

They are important because they act as a guide for you, they remind you of stay calm in situations. They keep you grounded by keeping you from spiraling. They give you hope that there is a way out of a difficult situation. When in doubt, focus on your affirmations because they act as a light in the darkness.

How to come up with Affirmations

  1. Start by recognizing the negative thoughts or beliefs you have about yourself.
  2. Transform those negative thoughts into positive statements.
  3. You can say them out loud with conviction
  4. It is important to have some belief in it no matter how small.

Examples of Daily Affirmations

  • “I am confident in my skills.”
  • “I trust myself to make the right decisions.”

I have to start this segment with my personal experience with affirmations to help you understand the applications.

  • I currently use one anytime I want to make a decision and I am scared to make it. I just go “Either way I win”. The way I see it, the situation might work out or it could be a learning opportunity, either way I’m getting something out of it.
  • I also use “I trust the process” for when I start a project or process that is going to take a long time to finish. This immediately makes me feel like the effort that I am putting into it is worth it.

These are two examples of affirmations that work for me. They might not work for you, find what works for you. You can always change it if you feel it doesn’t really cover your situation.

Conclusion

Incorporating affirmations into your routine can be a game-changer for your life. They may seem simple, but their impact can be profound.
